2017 Annual Conference

Marylhurst University is proud to co-sponsor the 2017 annual gathering of the Pacific Northwest Renaissance Society. This year’s theme: Renaissance Border Crossings: Documented and Undocumented.

The Pacific Northwest Renaissance Society is an academic organization that promotes scholarship in Early Modern Studies by hosting an annual conference. The conference is held alternately in the United States and Canada and is open to all scholars and graduate students from North America.

Traditionally, the conference features two plenary speakers, as many as 20 sessions (three to four papers each), a reception and a business lunch. The plenary speakers for 2017 are Fran Dolan, Distinguished Professor of English, UC Davis, and Daniel Vitkus, Professor of Literature, UC San Diego.

The PNRS is an affiliate of both the Renaissance Society of America and the Canadian Society for Renaissance Studies / Société Canadienne d’études de la Renaissance.

The 2017 annual conference will be held Oct. 19-22, 2017 in Portland, Oregon, hosted by Portland State University and co-sponsored by Marylhurst University.
