Frances Kaplan Art Exhibition

Works by the late Frances Kaplan, former art therapy faculty member, will be on display in Mayer Gallery through April 2018.

Frances Kaplan was accomplished at writing and research and was a prolific contributor to the art therapy literature. As time went on, Frances became interested in art therapy education and taught art therapy students at various colleges including Hofstra University (New York) and Marylhurst University (Oregon). She was known worldwide through publication of two books and taught in Australia and South Korea. She was a dedicated active member of the American Art Therapy Association and was an editor of its journal. The world is a better place for her having been in it.

This exhibition coincides with the Creative Arts Therapies Conference at Marylhurst University April 20 – 22. A memorial for Frances will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, April 20, as part of the conference activities.
